Questions About College

1. What courses in college did you like most? Least? Why?

The course I liked most was that of finances, because I learned things I did not know and that helped me a great deal in growing as a professional in business administration the course I liked least was Humanities because I understand that it is a little boring and, in my very personal opinion, it does not strengthen any area of the field I chose

2. Do you think your extracurricular activities in the college were worth the time you spent on them? Why or why not?

I was able to make an extracurricular activity performing a work plan for a foster home children and my experience was very enriching as it could provide activities that motivated children and give affection to those needy children.

3. When did you choose your college major? Did you ever change your major? If so, why?

I began studying Education, then took some nursing courses and, eventually, I realized that what I liked the most was Math, so I decided to switch to Business Administration. This is the field where I want to develop myself.

8. Why did you choose particular field of work?

I chose the field of administration because I understand that I am an organized person and a leader, I am always willing to assign activities and resources to achieve my established goals. I like to plan, to set goals and objectives and to carry them out. I also am a good leader who can lead effectively.

9. What are the disadvantages of your chosen field?

Perhaps the biggest disadvantage is the amount of people who choose this profession, in addition to the number of limited positions which could be a disadvantage in finding work.

12. Why do you think you would like this particular type of job?

I want to work as a business administrator because I can deal with situations in a professional way. Also I am aware of how companies acquire and use their resources to meet their objectives and benefit the company, the managers and the employees themselves.

13. Do you prefer to work in any specific geographic location? If so, why?

I would like the United States since my partner is studying mechanics aviation  and it is a profession which has better opportunities outside of Puerto Rico. I also understand that, for me, it would be an excellent idea to develop  in my professional area both here in Puerto Rico and in the United States.

14. What motivates you? Why?
I have a 9 month old son that motivates me. I want to give him my best; that he feels proud that his mother is a professional. Also, as I said before to choose this profession you have to like everything that surrounds it and I understand that I have the characteristics and enthusiasm to be an excellent business administrator.

15.  What do you think determines a person’s progress in a good organization?

I understand that the progress of a person in a good organization is determined by its quality work, the commitment on what is done, the organization and objectives and targets set. But there must be a good leader in that organization to guide the employees to work in an effective way to achieve their purpose.

16. Describe an experience in which you learned from one of your mistakes.

I understand that not all partners that work in teams are responsible. I had the opportunity of choosing a team for a class and because not all of them made the required activities, I practically finished doing the work of others. I learned that I should know how to choose a good team to have a good organization.

17. Why do you want this job?

Because I like to work and share my ideas to achieve an effective job, leading and getting effective performance to achieve short and long term goals.

18. What have you done that shows initiative and willingness to work?

Shows that I'm a leader and solving problems before my boss have to intervene. Because since childhood I liked to always take the initiative.

19. Why should I hire you?

Because I like what I do because I have initiative and creativity leadership, organization, responsibility, kindness and I am always ready to give my best to meet the goals.

20. Do you prefer working with others or by yourself?

I enjoy working alone when necessary as I don’t need to be constantly reassured of my work. But I would prefer to work in a group as I believe much more work can be accomplished when everyone is pulling together.

21. What type of boss do you prefer?

I prefer a kind of boss that motivates you and congratulates you when you do the job well that develops good leaders, that drive you to accomplish objectives and goals.

22.  Have you ever had any difficulty getting along with colleagues or supervisors? With instructors? With students?

Well, so far I have not had no difficulty with any supervisor, instructors or fellow students

23. What would you do if you were given an unrealistic deadline for a task or project?

Make a good strategy to get the job done and if I understand that I cannot do the work in the established time, I would notify the causes which I understand I should have more time to complete the task.

24. How do you feel about overtime work?

I don't have any problem to work overtime, because when it's something I enjoy no matter how long it takes.

25. How do you handle stress or pressure on the job?

Working under pressure is not easy; to work more effectively you should have a good organization, and learn to delegate work and create a good team.
